How to Create a Video

Tandem Trader enables you to create and share videos with the entire community. This guide will explain how to create a video.

Why Use Videos

Videos are a quick way to share ideas within the Tandem Trader community. You can use them to:

• Walk other traders through a chart, trade setup, or strategy
• Share your thoughts on the market or a particular ticker
• Illustrate your trading process
• Broadcast your trades or watchlists

Tandem Trader also offer livestreams if you want to share your trades or market commentary live throughout the day.

How to Create a Video

Step 1: Open the Video Editor

You can open the video editor from any Tandem Trader page. Just click on the + icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen, then select Video.

Step 2: Title Your Video

Give your video a title that briefly describes what it's about. A good title might include:

• The chart or strategy you're discussing ("Breakout Trading Plan for $AAPL Triangle Pattern")
• The focus of your analysis ("Why a Stronger Dollar is Bad News for $GLD")
• The watchlist you're covering ("Post-market Update on Energy Sector Runners") 

You must title your video before you can save, preview, or publish it.

You also have the option to add a longer description to your video. This makes your video easier to discover through search and gives other traders more context about the purpose of your video.

Step 3: Record Your Video

Tandem Trader offers three ways to share a video:

• Record Video: Record a new video using Tandem Trader's recording studio. 
• Drag or Upload Video: Upload a video you've already recorded. MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, and WEBM formats are supported.
• Embed Video: Embed a video hosted on YouTube or Vimeo. Simply enter the video's URL.

Recording within Tandem Trader

When recording a video within Tandem Trader, you can:

• Share a browser tab, an app window, or your entire screen
• Record audio using your device's microphone (optional)
• Share video of yourself using your device's camera  (optional)

Click Start Recording to start your video, then click Stop Recording when you're done.

You can't edit videos directly in Tandem Trader or download recordings. If you want to make changes to your video, you must re-record it. Recording a new video will overwrite your previous video.

After recording, click Edit Thumbnail to change the cover image that will display in Tandem Trader's social feed. You can select any frame from your video or upload an image. 

Step 4: Adjust Your Video Settings

The box on the right side of the video editor allows you to adjust key settings for your video.

• Category: Available categories include General, Trade Recap, Webinar, Strategy Lesson, Market Analysis, and Video Watch List
• Tickers: Add tickers for any stocks mentioned in your video to make it easily searchable
• Concepts: If your video covers trading concepts like breakouts, earnings plays, or bounce trades, you can tag your video with the relevant concepts. This makes it easier for traders to find your video when searching for video lessons.
• Content Visibility: Public or Private
• Allow Comments: On or Off

Step 5: Preview & Publish

When your video is finished, you can see how it looks using the Preview button in the upper right-hand corner of the dashboard.

If it's ready to publish, return to the editor and click Publish.

If you chose to make your video public, it will be visible to all Tandem Trader users immediately after publishing. It will appear in the main content feed and anyone can access it from the Media dashboard.

Saving Video Drafts

You can save any video as a draft and return to it later. Just click Save Draft.

To return to a draft, click Load Draft in the upper right-hand corner of the video editor. A pop-up menu will display all of your unpublished drafts. You can also delete draft plans using this menu.

Editing and Deleting Published Videos

Here's how to edit or delete a published video:

1. Navigate to your content. From any Tandem Trader page, click on your account icon in the upper right-hand corner. Select My Content.
2. Find your video. You can search for your video by title or use the Content Types filter for Video Lessons.
3. Edit or delete. Click on the three dots on the right side of your video, then choose whether to edit or delete it.

Video Views, Likes & Comments

You can also track views, likes, and comments on your public videos. Find your video in My Content and click on it. Below your video, you'll see:

• How many times it's been watched
• How many traders have liked, bookmarked, and shared it
• Any comments and replies on the video
